If you post a bit more about where you are in the game I'll be able to help more. I suspect you are at the stage where you are lodging at the boarding house in Lynnville, and you have already been to dinner. In that case, the next step you need to take is in Lucky Strike, somewhere you haven't previously been. When you are upstairs in the saloon, try all of the options.
