When I worked on the grounds crew at Birmingham Golf Course they used them almost exclusively. Some of them were newer, if I'm not mistaken, so I would think they would have been less than 5 years old. I can't be sure of that, however. So I'm thinking they've still been manufactured within the past 10 years. However, the newest carts we had were 4-wheeled and from a different manufacturer. > > Mich-Manuel Labor-ael
When I toured the Cushman plant in Lincoln, Nebraska, way back in 1995, they were producing "Turf Management" machines. These were mainly sold to golf courses. The four-wheeled Truckster was no long in production at that time, but they could have gone back into production if there was a demand. By that time, EzGo* and Yamaha were stiff competition. Textron owned the Cushman name in those days.
Cushman industrial vehicles were tough and reliable. They were built for easy maintinence, and I have seen some over 40 years old and still in use. The little three-wheeled MinetMizer was an electric vehicle that seemed to never wear out. I see one in the Chicago airport terminal from time to time.
Come to think of it, their scooters lasted fairly well too. I have a '47 model Cushman, two from 1953, a 1961 and a 1963. All still run and two of them are unrestored originals. I have three more "basket cases" which means they are unassembled, but pretty much all there.
