It's one of those things you don't realize is so convenient and efficient until you switch back to a non-tabbed browser and try to deal with the mess of multiple windows again. > > I seem to remember Mozilla having tabbed browsing way back at 1.0, so presumably Netscape had it since 7.0, which was based on Moz 1.0 IIRC. Correct me if I'm wrong, though. It's certainly been in Mozilla for a while, at least, so Netscape 7.2 should have it unless they specificly removed it for some reason.
Here at work I use Netscape 7.1, and yes, it does have tabbed browsing. I think I have 7.2 at home... it looks and works identically to this version, as near as I can tell. (A far cry from IE for the Mac, by the way, which lacked a lot of the things I liked about IE for the PC.)
I do love the tabbed browsing... it's the primary reason I stopped using IE as my browser of choice. And I share some of Sam's frustrations with the Netscape browser, like hitting those buttons I never use by accident all the time.
I'm pretty much stuck with what I have here at work, but perhaps I'll take a look at FireFox sometime and try it out on my PC at home.
