To me, it is a moral/medical thing, not a legal thing. Laws are sometime very impersonal. I look at pro-abortion and anti-abortion laws the same way I look at the zero-tolerance policies that school boards use. There needs to be a little leeway to give room for decisions on a case to case basis. Laws don't always allow enough of that.

So often, laws are used to force someone to adhere to someone else's belief. Anti-gay marriage is another good example of that.
