You need to go back where you started and climb that tree by the wall and take a limb for your inventory. Now if you are taking about the vampire that will take care of it. If not tell me exactly what this goblin is or where.
Finish him off with the sword, but be warned that he will zap it back to the cave. (was that where the sword was?)
BTW, I'm at the post-goblin stage but I can't figure out how to get out of this forest.
