Speaking of art, since I am a little wierd, some of the things I call art are a little different.
I was out in the shop earlier today and I was looking at a Maytag washing machine engine. it was built in 1947 and ran on gasoline because some people didn't have electricity in those days. It is a work of art. The metal casting are made with graceful curves, and the trademark is spelled out in beautiful script. But the thing that makes it art is that its form follows its function. Almost everything on it helps it work. There was no real effort put into making it beautiful. It was made to do a job, and that makes it beautiful.

I see art in fishing tackle, automobiles, buildings, tools, bridges, dishes, coins, parks, airplanes, ships and any number of other things that have a purpose. They do a job and look beautiful doing it.
