leaf me alone

It is leaf season again and I spent the morning on the lawn mower. Bad for the old back, but better than raking. Most of the leaves are still on the trees, but the ground was completely covered. This was true, even in areas that I cleared yesterday. It makes me want to ask where they are all coming from, but I have been aware for years that there is a thing called the Smoky Mountain vortex that picks up leaves in the national park and funnels them into the northern corner of Loudon County. Acorns and hickory nuts arrive by the ton via the vortex. Such is life. If you are dealt lemons, make lemonaide, and if you are dealt leaves, make compost. Howard
