Just thought I'd share this with the board. I guess I just need to vent to someone.

Our salt and pepper mini schnauzer, Grimmy, is sick. We don't know what's wrong with him, but we assume it's something he ate, since he tends to vacuum up anything he finds (past examples include cigarette butts, clothes pins, zippers and bagels), and his digestive system seems to want to empty itself in whatever manner it deems expedient.

Neither I, nor mrs_bat, nor Grimmy slept very much last night, and Grimmy is now at the vet. We're awaiting test results to see what he has, and we hope our little one will pull through and we will be re-enschnauzed in short order.

Of course, Grimmy is still cute, even when he's sick. In addition to his other symptoms, he has a lot more gas than usual. He used to pass it silently, but now it makes a characteristic noise. So every time he passes gas he quickly turns around to see who is behind him.
