I don't speak any foreign languages, unless you count Redneck, but it pick up a word or two traveling. I can usually make out the meaning of signs in Spanish, but a French menu throws me for a loop. A couple of weeks ago I was in Mexico and I had prepared myself by brushing up on my phrasebook Spanish. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use it because all of the Mexican speak better English than me.

Maybe I need to spend more time in Spanish speaking countries like Southern Florida, California, and Atlanta. Or French speaking countries like Canada and New Orleans.

There is a German exchange student across the street and, you guessed it, her English is better than mine.
