How about the three last movies I've wanted to watch, but couldn't?
Blues Brothers 2000, Mary Poppins, and 42nd Street. One would think that at least the latter two are classics and should be found at any video rental store, but one would be grossly incorrect. In fact, I've been unable to find any of those three movies as rentals or for sale anywhere within about 20 miles of my house. I've given up on trying to rent movies anymore. I think it's just a given that if it's a movie I want to watch, no one will have it.
All of the rental places around here have gotten rid of their stock of VHS titles (which, frankly, is okay because I don't have a decent VCR anyway) but they haven't seemed to bother getting DVDs to replace them. Instead they have fifteen copies of Blue Collar comedy Tour, which I can't imagine anyone ever paying money to see, right in the spot where the movie I want should be.
And no one carries musicals anymore, either. Before these three I was trying to find a copy of 1776, with no luck at all. I swear, people these days have awful taste.
So to make up for not being able to watch the movies I want to see I've watched the Blues Brothers restored version and played a lot of Donkey Konga. But you know, it's just not the same. *sigh*
