I can't top that, but not long ago I posted the story of the time my daughter-in-law stepped out of my truck in a heavy rain and picked up a wet $100 bill. You would think that after I had given her a lift, she would have split it with me, but she didn't.
Recently, there was a story in the Knoxville News Sentinel about a dog that finds coins. The owner keeps them in a jar and says the dog, a German shepard, has amassed a fortune of about $3, so far.
I know it's an urban legend, but someone emailed me a story about a homeless person in Miami who found a package of cash wrapped in plastic and it contained over $120,000 dollars. After several months of waiting for a reward to be posted, he assumed that it was drug money and the crooks had already written it off as a loss. So he started spending about $20 a week and still no reaction. After holding on to it for a year, he was said to have gotten on a bus for some undisclosed destination to start a new life.
If it's true, I hope he made it. Howard
