My father was named Julian. In some cases, people assumed that the "n' was a typo and that he was Julia. Since my mother was Meredith, one of those "either way" names, it was possible to get their gender backwards.

My wife's name is Willette which has been mistaken for William. My name is always a male, which makes me wonder if our orientation was in question.
