I watched the movie, "Cavern," last night, and although I found parts of it entertaining and maybe even educational, it had nothing new in the plot. If you have read about Tom Sawyer and Becky Thacher lost in a cave, you know most of the story.
In this one, there is a rising cave stream that threatens the heros, instead of Indian Joe. All of the characters are sterotypes. There is the whinning coward, the handsome hero, and the beautiful girl. In this case the B.G. only seems to have one tallent and that is getting very wet and drying off again. Or maybe that's two tallents.
This trio of cave explorers finds themselves trapped in a cave in northern Alabama, when a dying hurricane dumps tons of rain on the region causing the water to rise in the cave. How's that for timely? Unfortunately, that's about all there is to it.
In a number of scenes, people are finding their way around in what should be total darkness, yet they have no lights. I was also impressed by the way people could get soaking wet and moments later they were dry again.
Miss it if you can. Howard
