Somehow, I have gotten into the shop tour business. Day before yesterday, I got a call from a group of retirees who pass their time by going to see "interesting things." They mentioned the Mayfield Dairy tour, and stuff like that. It sounds like field trips for senior citizens. Anyway, they had seen my Cushmans in the paper and so a week from Monday, ten of them are going to tour my Scooter shop. As you might have guessed, some of them had Cushmans when they were young and had not seen one in a while. My wife volunteered to make a pot of coffee.
It might be a little crowded with ten people, seven scooters, two motor bikes, one rocking chair, and all my other junk in a playroom that is only 34 feet long and sort of narrow.
After they leave here, they plan to go visit a car dealer in Lenoir City who sells only antiques, classics, street rods, and such. I'm glad they are coming here first, because some of those cars are the stuff dreams are made of and I'm afraid my scooters would pale by comparison. They also plan to have lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant. I might want to tag along.
My wife says I may not be teaching anymore, but I'm still doing show and tell. Howard
