going home

So tomorrow I get to go home. I always enjoy visiting with the grandkids, but they are in school now and usually come home bringing a friend. Otherwise it's loud music and video games. Could it be that they are outgrowing me?
When I get home there will be a stack of newspapers, 150 emails, mostly junk, a stack of mail, also mostly junk, and grass that needs cutting. I know it will need cutting because it needed cutting before I left. My hair is in a similar condition. It's still August, but the leaves are beginning to fall. I will fight leaves until January. I think about 20 more loads with the wheelbarrow will finish off the mulch pile that used to be last years leaves. That sort of makes it a year around job.
I hope to hit a Georgia yard sale or two before I leave for home. I will then try to survive Interstate 75, and I will try to remember to get gas before I cross the state line.
The car is about 1000 miles overdue for an oil change, but it's hard to do that while it is rolling. I have had the new oil and filter in the garage for some time now. I am about to run out of kitty litter that I use to soak up spilled oil, but since the cat died about 10 years ago, that is to be expected. Yes, I always spill at least a little oil on the carport, no matter how hard I try. If I get in a hurry it will be a big mess.
As it usually does when I am away from home, my blood sugar spiked this morning. It will go back down in a day or two.
One of the nice things about traveling is going home. I'm not sure I understand why. Howard
