Are they gone gone? If they're there and saved correctly, but XP can't display them, I'd strongly suggest you not delete them. It seems likely that eventually a fix will come, or if worst comes to worst you could just eventually recover them by mounting the drive from an operating system that can... uh... handle the complex technology that is the TIFF...
