I feel so much better! The relief is huge. I am not the only one with computer problems. This post sounds so much like what happens to me every time I boot up. I have different problems, but the frustration is the same.

I've had a new computer for a couple of weeks now and it continues to knock me down and kick me daily.

With lots of help, some of the problems have been solved, but many of them just won't go away.
For example, my digital camera tells me that it is hooked up to the computer, but the computer tells me that it can't find the camera. (It's right beside you, you stupid machine! If it was a snake it would have already bitten you!)

An then there is the problem of it saving stuff without being told to do so. Also, refusing to save something that I want saved. Large blocks of email disappear overnight. Stuff like that.
It changes my email address and various passwords without any prompting from me.

Late at night (Twilight Zone theme here.), when I start to shut down, it says that someone else is using the computer and that if I turn it off, they might lose data. Who, I ask? Where? No answer, so I turn it off anyway. Nobody ever complains.

I remember a time when I bought an new color TV. It was about 15 years ago. I brought it home, took it out of the box and plugged it in. Then I pushed the button and it came on. There was a blue screen with the word "autoprogramming" on it. After a couple of minutes, a picture came on and it has been working ever since. Why can't computers be like that?
