My mom and I play Scrabble at least a couple of times a week. We have played so much that we use words like "xu" and "qat" all of the time, and when we play with less geeky friends, we have to prove that they are actually words. One time, we played phonetically, meaning you could spell "aly" instead of "alley," for example, if the other player could understand what word you were thinking of.
