I just had a bright idea! Many of the people I know wanting to learn English go to the LOW COST classes held twice a year in many of the larger churches. There is usually a small cost for the textbook and workbook, and some of these classes even offer native speakers of the language on floppy disks to help with the exercises in the workbook. This is how I learned Spanish.

Something else I might suggest would be to try to read a good newspaper often and watch some of the good documentaries found on public TV stations. And why not have a something like a Tupperware party for a great opportunity to practice some of the English phrases and make a few new friends as well. Learning English will be fun!
