After that picture of me rocking in my shop got into the paper, I have had a lot of calls. Mostly it was people who haven't seen anything like those scooters in the background in a long time. Several have said they would like to come and see them and, so far, one guy actually did. Even my doctor mentioned it when I went in this morning for a check up. This afternoon, I found that page of the paper in my mail box and I have no idea who put it here. Possibly a neighbor.
We leave for my sister's wedding in a few days and I think I will take the clipping to show to my relatives. Some are coming for several days, so we will spend a lot of time catching up on stuff like that. I might show off that magazine article, too.
I don't have a count yet, but I expect to see cousins that I haven't ever seen before. My first cousin has a daughter who has adopted two kids. Would you believe teenagers? I think it is important for them to see the family that they have joined, even if it includes crazy uncle Howard.
My nephew from California is currently on his way to Georgia with a piano in the back of his truck. He plans to play for his mom's wedding. Last I heard he was barreling through Texas with an eye on New Orleans. Maybe he can pick up some tips playing a little Dixieland. The piano is an abandonded wreck that he has restored to like-new condition.
So I guess I will have a few stories when I get back from this wedding/reunion. If I don't, I'll just make something up. Howard
