Good point. In the past I'd always had glasses on when I used the Weed Eater, and I actually used it very little because I had a big lawn and used the mower to get most of it. Last night was probably the first time I'd ever run the thing while using contact lenses instead of glasses, and I didn't do much whackin' before grabbing the goggles.

Another good saftey tip is not to run a weed whacker while wearing shorts. I got a nice gouge in my shin last summer when I did, and I usually remember to put on jeans for whackin' now. And you should definitely never run a whacker while wearing nothing but flip flops and swimming trunks, like that one guy I saw a few years back when I was helping a buddy move.
