My son wants a Playstation desperately, and has been campaigning hard: he's only eight, though, and is probably not making the most informed decision.

I have no idea about the comparative quality of the two systems, and no idea which games would most likely keep my kids attention for the long run. I won't let them play anything that isn't rated E, so that may be an issue as well.

I know there are troops of Rinkies who can give you good advice about which system to buy, but I can tell you that it is the best solution for people who get bored riding. My grandson often travels with us and he comes on board with an XBOX or Playstation, a TV, and a converter that allows him to plug it in to the car. Sometimes he uses my vintage laptop by converting 12 volts to 110 volts and then letting the laptop convert back to 12 volts. Somehow it works.

Personally, I can't travel without constantly looking out the window. I look outside, even if I'm in an airplane at 30,000 feet, and it's midnight. I play my Gameboy in the airport, or a hotel sometimes.
