When my sister and I were younger, my mom used to say that we needed to do what she said first and ask questions later. I didn't always think that was so nice at the time, and I didn't always do before ask. But I have to say, now that this thread has reminded me of it, that it really worked for me. Very rarely have I ever disagreed with something my mom wanted me to do, told me I shouldn't do, or said that she thought was best for my life. Again, I may not have always gone through with it, but at least I didn't have countless arguments with her on the principles of what she said.
