Especially scary when you consider the instability of the cholesterol molecule in the pH of the stomach. Any cholesterol you eat is dismantled in your stomach before it can enter your blood. Any cholesterol in your blood was made by your very own body. This is according to my college biochem prof.
The placebo effect is well known. It introduces an artifact into the study. Knowledge of the placebo effect by the experimenters introduces yet another artifact. All before you even get to the statistical analysis part!
I think it was Mark Twain who said "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics."
