For a quick example, take a look at Saddam City on the outskirts of Bahgdad from an American perspective. After Saddam was removed from power, the citizens of the suburb quickly changed the name to honor a local cleric. Sounds good from our perspective, right? A year later, the same cleric was holed up with his own private army of followers, waging battles against American troops.
