They shall mount up with wings as eagles... posted by LaZorra on Thursday, June 10, 2004, at 23:19:29:
Their first words were, "Congratulations, Eagle." > > My fifteen-year-old brother is an Eagle Scout. I am a little jealous, because I would love to have had the opportunity to earn my Eagle (and I am certain I would have), but more than I am jealous I am proud. As befitting the role of older sibling, I have often thought of him as lazy, immature, messy, and inept; but he has finally proven himself to be responsible, capable, and intelligent. Congratulations, Eagle.
Congratulations Eagle! Eagle Scout is, indeed, a big deal. I went to the annual Blue And Gold Banquet this year with my son, Then Cub Scout Bear, now finally a Wolf. As usual, the den leaders and pack leader wore full uniform. The city mayor was in attendance, as was a local Eagle Scout. The Eagle was late 40s, early 50s, no longer active in Scouts, but in full uniform. All the den leaders and spouses were oohing and ahing at the uniform. "You only get to wear THAT neckerchief if you've made Eagle."
