I think you might be getting a little ahead of yourself. now that you have the bucket & the sap tap, why not try putting something else in the bucket ?
once it's filled, which will take awhile, try offering it to man's best friend....I've heard it can be good for a shiny coat !
on many of these games, you can't get what's needed til your "character" knows you need it, so you'll probably have to wait on that roc (a bird) feather,too, for awhile.
