My grandson, Chris, has a quiet sense of humor. He slips in a subtle little joke and then just sits back and waits for the reaction. He was here this afternoon. He likes to come to Grandma's house to study. While he was here, his Mom called and said that they were running late and if he wanted to eat here, they would just stop and pick up some fast food. I heard him say, "You and Dad have a nice romantic dinner at Hardy's."
So a little later, we were eating supper and I asked for another bisquit, saying, "My blood sugar was low this morning and another bisquit shold bring it up a little."
Then Chris says, "It's like golf. You shoot for the low number."
He knows about diabetes, since both of his grandfathers have had the problem. Now his cat has it. I never knew cats had it, but this one started losing weight and the vet said it was diabetes. The poor cat is not as lucky as me. He has to have insulin.
Oops. Slipped off the subject there. Anyway, Chris is almost 16 and is studying Shakespeare in English class. He had to make an invitation to attend one of the Bard's plays, so he made it as if it was in Shakespeare's time and did it in the form of a scroll. I'd like to be a fly on the wall when he hands that in. Howard
