I'm past my personal addiction to Freecell. It sure was tempting, though, having it right there on my desktop. If my memory serves me (more on that later), my longest win streak was 150+ games. You get better at it with time and experience, and I usually found myself moving cards in rapid succession, without taking the time to plan my game strategy. I always replay a game until I beat it, and I (almost) never close the application without a session winning percentage greater than my cumulative winning percentage.

It actually is good for the brain, especially an old brain, to exercise it regularly. I believe some studies have shown that regular brain exercise can prevent, delay or lessen the severity of Oldtimers' Disease. I know this is third-hand authority, but my wife works with Oldtimers' patients and memory in general, and she used to work for the woman who discovered memory in the brain. Said woman keeps her brain working constantly, and is still doing brainological research at the age of 85+. So I trust her on these things. So keep playing card games, keep doing crossword puzzles, and keep your job. Your brain will thank you for it.
