For all of you who enjoy learning new languages, you might like to know that in New Zealand a redneck is called a Westie.

Westies come from West Auckland, where the mountains divide and the surf beaches are wide. It's where they filmed Hercules, Xena, and a lot more upcoming crap American TV series. (oh, and arty films like The Piano.) It's where you get four free concrete blocks with every used car, and the dummies in bridal shop windows are all pregnant. It's the region that, a few years ago, spawned a mayor who used the mayoral limousine to tow his concrete mixer. This is true, though I wish it wasn't.

I am not a Westie.
