I had a guy change lanes right in front of our happy little family (husband, two kids, dog, pulling a huge fifth-wheet trailer), cutting us off and *barely* giving us time to brake. We switched lanes, he slowed down, and as we went past, he was: drinking a coffee, smoking, talking on his cell phone, pushing the buttons on his CD player AND taking off his jacket. > > te "Not Catholic, but keeps a St. Christopher medal in the truck, just in case." ach
The worst part is that you see so many drivers like that. I picked my grandson up at school today and on the way home a car switched lanes in front of us missing our front bumper by inches. Fortunately, I was only going about 30 and had just let off the gas.
My grandson's reaction was, "Doesn't that make you mad?" But it happens so much, I just take it in stride. I'm a firm believer in defensive driving, but you can't anticipate every hairbrained move.
That little blurb about the lady in the minivan actually happened yesterday morning on I-75 in Georgia. I wonder what would have happened if I had still been beside her when she caught that truck. And if she had clipped the back of the truck when she cut back across to the exit.... Well, I guess we would have all been in the wreck. Howard
