FQ1 - Cant open trap door

I am in the fortress - I have also been in the volcano and the castle, used the oil on the drawbridge.

I have:
sack, carrot, rope, hook, branch, silver key, gold key, sword, shovel, hammer, nails, bow, arrow, club, ticket, sunstone, magic stone, fishing pole, passring, scroll, winter coat, float ring, and oil.
I have tried staring at the picture in the hallway for a while, but nothing happens. Need help!
