I get mistaken for other nationalities all the time for some reason, although only because of my voice.
Recently I was asked if I was from New Zealand, because of my inflexion. Before that, I was thought to be Australian by two girls from England in Miami Airport. It also turned out they lived less than twenty miles away from me. A user at a site I was working at thought I was South African and several Americans have thought me to be Australian, too.
I suppose it's useful if I want to be sort of anonymous.
