I've never been to the larger cities in Haiti, but I've seen the northern coast twice and it's a beautiful area. I hope they can have a stable government be open to tourist in the future.

If we can spend billions in Iraq, we should be willing to spend a few bucks on a neighbor. I guess they don't have any oil, or weapons of mass distruction, and they are rather dark skinned, but it seems the right thing to do. I guess I would be in favor of allowing a few refugees into the US, but a far better solution would be to help them improve their government and their educational system, and teach them to how to use tourism to bring their people out of poverty. It's an chance that we shouldn't pass up. Today, Haiti. Tomorrow, Cuba.
