a nice day

It was nice and warm this afternoon so I did a little work in the yard. Winter has left sticks, hickory nuts, and pine cones all over the place. I raked up several wheelbarrow loads.
Our mailbox kept flopping over to one side. It had done it all winter. So I took it off the post and put some new wood underneath and put it back up. It's steady now. That sounds simple, but it took more than an hour.
Then I rolled out my Cushman Eagle and decided that with a dead battery, it was never going to start. But it did. Two kicks got it going. I wish my beautiful, fully restored scooters would start like that. The Eagle still has it's faded 1963 paint, and the handlebars have some bad pitting in the chrome. But it starts and runs. I rode it to both ends of our dead-end road. Howard
