I guess it's my turn, this time - the idea of a RinkWorks chat room was proposed and dismissed for the following reasons: firstly, the threaded message forum serves just about every purpose that a chat room would, along with being less confusing. Secondly, the message forum can store back messages, so people can, for example, go back and reply to the first message much later. Not that *I'd* do that, of course ;-}. Thirdly, the message forum can allow multiple threads of conversation to develop from the same source; that's not really practical in a chat room. Fourthly, the level of conversation in a chat room tends to be a bit lower than the one we enjoy here in the forum. And there's always Instant Messenger, as has been mentioned - I've talked to several people over AIM; several of us have it.

If I've missed anything, I'm sure someone will leap at the chance to correct me. ;-}
