When I graduated High School in '88 I went straight into college. My parents said it was either that or get a job. I didn't do well. I dropped out after 1 year. In '93 I decided to go back. I did so much better this time. I actually enjoyed the classes, and my grades were higher than I had ever done... even in high school. I guess the main difference was that when I went back I was going because I wanted to, and not just because it sounded like the easy way out.

As far as obsticles go, there really weren't that many for me. I had classes with people old enough to be my grandparents, so age wasn't a factor. I related with the instructors better since I was on a higher maturity level than before so no problem there. I was married with a wife and kids, so the responsibility factor wasn't a problem, and I had reliable transportation. I guess the hardest part about it was not having the steady full time income we were used to having when I was working. But financial aide helped a lot with that. All-in-all going back was probably one of the smartest things I have ever done, and I'm glad I did.
