While we have a pluralistic system here, with at least three parties (currently the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties) being large enough to field a candidate in ever constituency, and most constituencies having a half-dozen candidates at least, it still comes down to a two-horse race. The Lib-Dems even get referred to as the "third party" often enough.
