Enough! Too much! Arrgh!

Too much is too much. I don't watch a lot of TV, but I try to keep up with the news. I am beginning to wonder if there is a shortage of stories to report. Maybe every day is a slow news day. When the talking heads get a new story, they tend to repeat it until something else comes along. But I have seen too much -- way too much--of some stories and the pictures that go with them. I hope I never see that shot of the inside of Saddam's mouth again. A couple of hundred times should have been enough.
And how many times do we need to watch Michael Jackson put his palm out to cover the camera lens? Maybe that picture of his bruised arm will replace it. I don't think I've seen that more than a dozen times. And I have bad dreams about the return of the baby-dangling picture. Some guy from Australia tried to top that!
The count of flu shot pictures is off the scale and has been for months.
When the TV News idea committee meets, they always start with some dufus saying, "Hey, I know what we can do! Let's show the traffic backed up on the Interstate!"
Are they still showing that shot of Scott Peterson sitting in the court room?
By now, we all know that Kobe Bryant has a lawyer who only comes up to his knee.
And if you think those pictures of OJ's white Broncho cruising slowly through LA are gone, I have news for you. I saw that last week.
I would vote to ban police mug shots of Nick, Michael, Winona, and Robert Downey, Jr..
And to make matters worse, 2004 is an election year. Howard
