Humor isn't by any means a cure-all-be-all for problems, but it sure can help a lot. And I'll pass a bit of wisdom to you my Daddy passed to me at one point when I was down... "No matter what happens, they can't eat ya."

I really don't see anything humorous about my grandfather's death -- it isn't funny -- but with all the other events happening at once it's made us really lurch around, seasick. Punch-drunk. And yes I guess we can count ourselves lucky that no one ever wants to snack on us...urk

And I meant no disrespect to you and yours. To me humor has always been an escape. When things get hard to handle it becomes a diversion that allows me to forget, even if only for a moment, that I have very serious things to deal with that would weigh me down if I didn't have a way out from time to time. And ultimately, it can be those escapes that help me through when I do have to deal with the problems I face. I know you understood that I didn't think there was humor in your grandfathers death, but I wanted to explain the context I was speaking from just the same.
