Perfect strangers (or so I think) come up to me in the halls and say "Hi (my name goes here, it's not jimmy and i would like to keep it a mystery for a while)!" and i say, "uh... Johnny!" I said this to 5 people yesterday and they walked away laughing... anyways, is there something wrong with my brain?

James, that is a classic case of name overload.
If you meet a great many different people over the years, your brain hits a saturation point, and suddenly all those names seem to run together. It hit me before I reached 30. I was teaching in a departmentalized school where I saw 120 to 200 students each day, plus parents, other teachers and politicians. Then suddenly the names blurred.
I usually knew the faces, but names...! For-get-it! I wish I could tell you that you'll get over it.
