Until about halfway through junior high, I had six-day school weeks. I still remember how weird and glorious it felt to have TWO WHOLE DAYS off. The joys of homeschooling.
I think four-day school weeks sound a bit ridiculous. It seems like kids who have a hard time concentrating (not those with ADD and such, just the squirmy ones like myself) would be worse off under that situation, with longer days. And I know that when the teachers cover a difficult subject on Friday, I have a hard time remembering it until Monday, so it seems to me like the teachers would have to re-teach more of the material under the four-day system than they had to previously, and that would probably end up wasting as much time as it saved.
On the other hand, I know just how I would use those three-day weekends.
