Trinity REALLY dies in the third movie (Just saw it).. they crash in the machine city and she dies in the crash. Neo dies at the very end of the movie when he defeats Agent Smith, but he saves Zion and ends the war.. kind of a sucky ending if you as me

My bet is that this fight takes place while they're both still unconscious, whereever their minds went to. I'm guessing that their bodies here falling unconscious is what their escaping to the "next" level looks like. This would mean they will remain unconscious for most of the third movie. Anyway, time will tell...
