I've read that story, and I have to agree that they're very similar in feeling--one man put in an absolutely ludicrous situation and seeing how he copes with it. I remember the "note" that King wrote for that story, explaining how he loves short stories, because you don't always have to "explain" everything. Sometimes it's ok to just have a huge finger sticking out of some guy's sink, and just see how he reacts. That's pretty much exactly what I did with "Stuck." Put some guy in a bathroom stall he can't get out of and see how he reacts.
