The only way we can know all is right with the world is for the Cubs to not make the World Series, the Red Sox to get kicked out of the playoffs on some freak play, and for the Yankees to walk all over their opponent in the World Series. The first two have happened. If the Yankees don't pull through and right this ship, we're about to find out what all that stuff in Revelation really means. > > The apocalypse can't be THAT much worse than watching the Yankees win again gaaaaaaah. > > I'm with the "earthquake" contingent.
There's always the chance that an earthquake would just mean a brief postponement (re: 1989 World Series). I'm almost inclined to wish for a sped up global warming, so that both places get flooded. Apologies to anyone living there.
But my choice right now is that hockey season has started -- I'll watch those games instead. I don't think I've ever been so unexcited about the World Series. Both owners are shady characters, the Marlins' rent-a-superstar irritates me more every time I see him, and I fully agree that seeing the Yankees win nearly every bloody year gets monotonous. Maybe there'll be some interesting moments with Clemens throwing more bats. But I'm glad I'm working the evenings that games 3, 4, and 5 are on.
