They also have to go to the bathroom from time to time, they also have to sleep and eat and drink... What makes them different from us? Hmm? What? O, they play-in-movies! Wow, big deal! Thats their job, ive got my job too (which isnt playing in movies, lol), we all got jobs (thats the idea anyway). Thats the point of being a human: we get born, have our childhood, get a job, make some money, enjoy life, and then we die...

> I'm not entirely sure where your dissatisfaction is directed. Your main concern seems to be against celebrities, i.e. those who develop inflated egos from all the adulation they receive. But then you generalize to say, in effect, that there is no need to look up to the heros in our society.

> I think you are confusing "idols" and idolism with "heroes". Yes, movie idols are often symbols of extreme and undeserved worship. Often they're highly visible without any real substance. I really can't understand people who obsess themselves with every aspect of a celebrity's life. I do know, however, that being a hero is somewhat different.

Yeh, you're right - of course. "Idol" would have been a more accurate word. "Hero" on the other hand is something i have too, if you use the meaning you gave it. (like i said in the thread about this matter; my girl is my heroinE to me [:-)])
