Political compass poll posted by Joona I Palaste on Sunday, October 5, 2003, at 22:18:59:
I didn't get libertarian left. I was to the upper-right of the origin... so, mildly authoritarian right. However, when I looked at where they'd placed other people on the graph, I felt I identified most strongly with people who were supposedly much further right and authoritarian.
Some of the questions bothered me in that they trapped me into answering in a way that I didn't like. For instance, the "women as homemakers" question ("Women may have careers, but their real job is to be a homemaker."--or something like that). My view is that, ideally, both parents should be at home as much as possible, but if a parent must work outside the home it would preferrably be the father--especially in the early years. The is pretty different from answering either "agree" or "disagree", and that bothered me. A lot of the questions were like that. So, it seems to me that some of them were worded in such a way that you would be forced to say something you didn't think was entirely true. I don't know if they did that intentionally or not.
