I bought a new bathroom scale the other day. It is electronic with an LED readout and a chip that lets you program it. You tell it your target weight and then when you weigh yourself, it tells you how much more you need to gain or lose. It has a soft female voice, and it may make wise cracks, such as "Cut back on dessert." Or, if you gain a lot in a short time it will say "One at a time, please," before it even gives you your weight. It will also call you by name, and say good morning or good afernoon. About once a week it will give you your average weight gain or loss. There is an LCD readout with your name, the time, day, and date. It can be programmed so that several people can use it, but you have to "select" your name each time. It uses two 9 volt batteries. OK, I'm dreaming, and Wal-Mart doesn't have anything like that. I'm sure somebody makes such a product, or will very soon. With so many obese people around and so many people who are watching their weight, I think there is a market for it. I'll keep looking. So when did you begin to suspect that my imagination was running wild again? Howard
