I agree with you there - I can't think of any scientific way to explain free will. For example, with quantum mechanics, when an electron goes in a particular direction, it isn't because the electron thought about it and _chose_ to go that way, it just does. If you want to believe in free will, you just have to accept some kind of supernatural mechanism.
