first you should get rid of those good coins. give them to someone near the hut. you should also exchange that jewel at the store to get something usefull. remember that fishing takes patience. keep trying and you may catch something that you can give to someone.
also i see you have lost your sword. to find it, look in the place you originally found it (a dark, wet place).
